    The MEKU handbook.

Everything from your first sign-up to onchain tipping, the dApp browser, and how we keep your wallet safe.

    What MEKU is

MEKU is a social app with a wallet built in. You post, reply and message like any feed app — and every account carries a USDC wallet on Arc, so value moves with the conversation instead of leaving it. There is no seed phrase to write down: your wallet is created for you and protected by a 6-digit PIN.

    1 · Create your account

Sign up with an email, a password and a username. Usernames are unique, lowercase, 3–20 characters, and may contain letters, numbers and underscores. They are checked for availability as you type and reserved the moment you register. You can browse MEKU without an account — posting, tipping, following and messaging require one.

2 · Set your wallet PIN

On first launch you are asked to create a 6-digit PIN and answer a recovery question. The PIN is stretched with PBKDF2 and only the hash reaches our servers, so nobody at MEKU can read it. Every outgoing transaction re-asks for it. Too many wrong attempts locks signing for a cooling-off period; reset from Settings → Security.

    3 · Fund your wallet

Open Wallet and copy your address, or share the QR. Send USDC on Arc only — assets sent on other networks cannot be recovered. Balances refresh automatically and after each confirmed transfer; pull to refresh if you are impatient. Testnet users can top up from the Arc faucet.

4 · Send, receive and tip

Send from the Wallet screen or straight from a post, comment or chat with the Tip button. Paste an address or a @username — addresses are validated with an EIP-55 checksum before the sheet lets you continue. Confirm the amount, enter your PIN, and the transfer is signed server-side. Activity labels tips separately from plain transfers and shows the counterparty's username where we know it.

5 · Posting, replies and threads

Tap + to compose text with up to four images. Replies render as a straight conversation line, X-style, so long threads stay readable. Any post or reply can be liked, bookmarked, tipped or reported, and you can pin one post to the top of your profile from the three-dot menu.

    6 · Messages

Direct messages are realtime, with typing indicators, emoji reactions, swipe-to-reply and copy/delete actions on each bubble. Media in chats is served through signed URLs, so links cannot be shared outside the conversation.

    7 · The in-app dApp browser

Open Arc dApps inside MEKU. An EIP-1193 provider is injected into the page, so pressing "Connect Wallet" surfaces your MEKU wallet with one tap — no extension needed. Every URL is screened against a phishing list and loaded through a hardened proxy. Signature and transaction requests always route back to the MEKU PIN sheet before anything is signed.

    8 · Premium tiers

Basic gives a blue check and a round avatar; Advanced gives a purple check and a squared avatar, plus higher ranking in mentions and search. Developers carry a black check. See Premium for the full comparison.

9 · Privacy and safety controls

Control discoverability, DM permissions and activity visibility in Settings → Privacy. Report any post, comment or account from its three-dot menu; repeated reports on the same content escalate to moderators automatically. Profile photos and banners are protected assets — download and long-press saving are disabled.

10 · Sessions and account hygiene

Settings → Security lists active sessions and lets you revoke them, rotate your PIN, and review connected wallets. If you lose access to a device, revoke first, then change your password.

    Troubleshooting

"Wallet is still provisioning" — the PIN challenge did not finish; reopen it from Wallet → three-dot menu. Balance shows zero — check you funded the address shown today, not one from an older wallet. A dApp won't connect — reload the tab; sites behind captcha walls may refuse to run inside any in-app browser.
